History Education

The History Council of Western Australia believes that the study and understanding of history, of all types, contributes to an understanding of society in general and provides basic tools for individuals and organisations to participate in community and government debates and decisions.

To this end, the Council has provided feedback on the Australian Curriculum Framework, has advocated for the teaching of Western Australian history in the school curriculum, and for the strengthening of the teaching of history in the university sector.
